For years I have been saying that no team could win the World Series with Sanchez as catcher. I still believe that to be true, but it is meaningless now because I am no longer clinging to the fantasy that Cashman has been selling for years about this team being built to win. It is not. The top four strikeout players on the team (of course led by Sanchez) record about as many as the entire team had in the 30s through 40s. Nothing good happens when the batter strikes out, and yet we are willing to pay that price in order to set hit ball speed records set on a regular basis.
