when the players are busting their butts & doing their best, it's one thing - not that they will win every game but be competitive. This year there has be little if any passion from this team - there is no determination or from Rocky 'eye of the tiger' looks. In 1959 I was shocked when the Yankees were not in the WS - ther were 2 Leagues with 8 teams each - finish first & go the WS - With expansion from 8 -32 teams & rounds to reach the WS, it's become more difficult to repeat making it to the series . I've learned to value each 1st place finish but try not to be too critical when they put forth their best effort.
