Re: Dodgers win Game 5

Somewhat sheepishly I have to admit I am rooting for the Dodgers. As they haven't won since 88 and are a legacy/historic/glamor franchise I feel more compelled to root for them than for the Rays.

Also I am feeling empathy and compassion for Kershaw and found myself rooting for him to pitch well and am glad for him that he did. The Dodgers have come so close so often recently it's like let's get it over with because the Yankees are winning in 2021 so it's now or never.

What I am really hoping for as a sports fan once our beloved Yankees were knocked out is a competitive series and exciting games...see Game 4!!!

I really haven't found myself rooting for the Dodgers much since I watched them beat the Yankees in '81 4-2. That and Blue Monday pretty much have had me rooting against Dodger Blue ever since...that said I have always liked Tommy LaSorda and found him to be as entertaining a field boss to watch as anybody I think I ever watched manage or coach a baseball team. Nice guy and very funny. Never rooted for Tommy's Dodgers to ever beat the Yankees though! Not after or during or before that 81 World Series Although I was not on board the Yankee train back in 76, 77 & 78...the Bronx Zoo years I have loved watching whenever those World Series have been revisited.
