gee H-man sounds like I'm rubbing off on you. a bit. It's not being the eternal optimist to look for the good in this Team. There have been so many changes in baseball in nearly 70 years - we've seen in post season pitching trumps power hitters. With Judge keeping a good BA plus solid OBP, I'm not going to complain with fewer homers. I' m more concerned with the stupid umpires who can't adjust to a 6'8" strike zone rather than the 6' 8 batter going out of his strike zone & flailing at low pitches. With umpires being graded after each game, I really am disappointed in Chelsea for not making them see the difference between 5'6 Altuve and 6'8 Judge in the box.
DJ has been missed in the lineup - whether he hits (which is most of the time) or just motivates the others - this is the injury that hurts. Just hope IF he plays today at 1st he doesn't do more damage that will put him on the IL.
Watching so many players come up and keep this team in 1st has been awesome (call it coincidence but every time Don LaGreca throws out a compliment to NYY whether one player or his latest that the Yankees have wrapped up the division something goes wrong. We watched a 14 game lead dissolve; how many games did the Muts have before collapsing that September a few years ago?? This latest streak began with his remarks whether they do anything before the trade deadline they have the division wrapped up. Like him better when he bashes the Yankees)
As for Rothchild - I just think it's time for him to retire. Not blaming him for the pitching woes of late.
