For last night we all owe Sonny an apology - bet not one of us expected him to shutdown the Pale Sux for 3 innings. He was solid - BUT before going too far with accolades remember first it was on the road and second he has had 3 sometimes 4 innings before imploding as a starter. I would like to see him stay in the pen as long relief and maybe a spot start so CC could skip a start or get an extra day.
The anemic bats didn't surprise me - before anyone jumps because we're playing a last place team - Monday's game was played on the adrenalin rush from lack of proper rest following the late night game on Sunday and early morning arrival in the Windy City. Those games are usually followed with a deflated type game - happy for the win but let's see those bats in action tonight and the real Luis Severino on the mound. Romine should be back behind the plate & Chapman probably available (not sure if that translates to him dominating) AJ will probably still be unavailable but he earned the extra day closing Monday for Lance. But what really scares me is the fact that we face a new pitcher & they usually stymie our offense.
