Scherzer ejected after umpire inspection!!!
LOS ANGELES -- Max Scherzer was ejected from the Mets’ game against the Dodgers before he took the mound in the fourth inning Wednesday following multiple conversations with umpires about his glove.
Scherzer initially met with umpires in the second inning for a routine sticky substances check. When he returned for the third, the umpiring crew asked him to exchange his glove for a new one, which Scherzer did before retiring the side in order.
As Scherzer returned for the bottom of the fourth, umpires again stopped him and engaged in an animated conversation with him and manager Buck Showalter. After about a minute, crew chief Phil Cuzzi ejected Scherzer, who allowed no runs in three innings.
Television cameras caught Scherzer clearly saying to Cuzzi, "It's just rosin. It's just rosin."Jimmy Yacabonis entered in relief of Scherzer and was given unlimited time to warm up due to the abrupt nature of Scherzer’s departure.
