Fans of the New York Yankees took to social media this week to share their dismay concerning a change to the club’s iconic pinstripe uniforms.
The Yankees are likely to place a sponsorship patch on their team uniforms sometime this season, according to a New York Post report.
This is the first year that Major League Baseball is allowing such advertising on uniforms. The Yankee pinstripes already sport the Nike ‘Swoosh’ logo, which is the league’s official uniform manufacturer.
The Post report states that the advertising patches could be seen by the mid-season All-Star break or the the Yankees might wait until the 2024 season.
