First don't apologize - we have fun with any disagreements or contentions. Second even things we have hashed and rehashed can make for interesting chats. We're all from different backgrounds, of varying age groups & often think different - in the end we
and move on. Respecting each other's ideas.
So with no disrespect, just my thoughts. The way managers are hired/fired these days - anyone the Yankees brought in could have made the mistakes (but we are 100% on our hindsight anyway). A lot of the pitching decisions are a compiliation of Blake & the analytic geeks stats passed on to Boone. I remember the game you refer to with Chapman. He had to pitch to 3 batters under the stupid rules - I blew a gasket when he was left in to pitch to a fourth batter, Guerro.
The players like Boone and playing for him - that plays into his contract extension.
Like it or not and in spite of what Cashman has said, any manager who goes against the analytic "suggestions" better be right or get called on the carpet - with the possiblity of losing his job. They're only hiring someone who is in lockset with the geeks.
