as you can see rivalries changed or altered during the generations, the different eras of baseball. Sometimes where you grew had a part in it. But I wouldn't change what it was - back then umpires didn't really influence the game - oh sure they missed some calls but that's human nature and were not like the power-flexing Angel Hernandez, Joe West, etc. We could pick and choose who we liked for our reasons - oh yeah everything wasn't videotaped by everyone with a smartphone (which didn't exist) Me personally I didn't have outside influences trying to 'form my opinions'. One of the best memories was the relationship developed with my then brother-in-law Don - who was from Ohio about an hour from Cleveland so naturally a huge Indian fan. Each time we got together we could talk about the teams and baseball in general - this bond formed when I was maybe 12 years old and just grew through the years. I won't go into later details. Just to say that I am so glad to have his friendship and respect for many years.
