I don't have the answers - been watching this take place as the players salaries skyrocketed and start calling the shots. We've seen in in the NBA & NFL players getting coaches fired - we saw it with Joe G not being re-signed because he reprimanded Sanchez. The players hold too much power - and the balance is apparently with the geeks who have never played the game but make suggestions for what should be done during a game -
back in the 50's and early 60's it was so easy - 16 teams managers made the lineups and changes during the game - if it didn't work out during the season they might be fired at season's end but for their own decisions.
