Why oh why?

Is Boone blind? or just plain stupid? How can he keep Stanton in the #2 hole ( the old #3 hole for the best hitter on the team) who had swung at pitches and his bat is 12 to 15 inches away from the pitch. Or if the pitch is in the dirt he will swing at it. Watch a curve ball break right over the heart of the plate. I realize he has to play because of his paycheck, the bat the guy 8th!
