Sanchez is the elephant in the Yankee room. Cashmans ego will not allow him to admit his mistakes. We have gone twenty years with just a handful of ace pitching, a disgrace given the payroll he has had access to. That is undeniable, so he tries to at least lay claim to hiring hitters. There were many months where Romine was the better player (both sides) than Sanchez, but Cashman lets him to go "protect" Gary's ego. Look where that got us.
