Great point, Hitman23 Excellent point and question, Hitman23 Taking the two catchers has me very puzzled. I would be curious to hear what the Yankees brass has for its reasoning. I like the way you're thinking with the very wise suggestion of drafting a pitcher. With the draft becoming such a crapshoot at a certain point I am always for acquiring more arms. QuoteHitman23 Another catcher??? Are they saying something about Gary Sanchez for the long term? Get better on blocking pitches and keeping them in front of you might be one thing. Not sure what the reasoning behond taking the two catchers is though. Regarding the second catcher taken...possibly the best available player at that pick?by Gator - TheYankeesBoard.com
Very pleased with the afternoon win but disappointed that they had to burn Chap to close this game thus probably eliminating his availability for tonight should the situation call for the closer. Will be hopeful if they go instead with Robertson.by Gator - TheYankeesBoard.com
I hear ya, toga. My preference these days to hear and watch call the Yankees games is Michael Kay, Paul O'Neill and David Cone, maybe Al Leiter, Ken Singleton, Flash Flaherty pretty much the YES roster or stable of color analysts. Ryan Ruocco does a good job when Michael Kay isn't doing play by play I think. On the ESPN front I have to admit that I do enjoy watching/listening to Dan Shulman anby Gator - TheYankeesBoard.com
QuoteBoone said that he remains hopeful that part of their schedule could become more travel friendly in the days to come. ESPN picked up New York's July 8 game against the Blue Jays for their Sunday Night Baseball telecast, meaning that the Yankees would have to play an 8:05 p.m. ET contest in Toronto, then travel to Baltimore for a 4:05 p.m. ET doubleheader the next day. It did not end well but in the interest of finding something positive somewhere from tonight's game it has to be(for me) Tanaka-san's pitching performance. Thought he looked pretty good. Even if we don't catch the Red Sox for the division we are going to have the home field for the Wild Card game and will draw a favorable matchup against Minnesota or less likely the Angels. Feeling good about that although winning the division is still possible I am, bottom line, glad we're going to be in the second season!!!by Gator - TheYankeesBoard.com

I think the netting needs to cover more of the areas where fans are at the greatest risk. It may be slightly intrusive from a viewing perspective but in the interest of safety some upgrades and changes need to be made...IMHO and I believe that fans will adjust. I knew something was up by the body language of Frazier and soon after Michael Kay described what had just happened. Seeing Matt Holidby Gator - TheYankeesBoard.com
Really wish we had the chance to play some meaningful games against the Red Sox in late September but the schedule maker kinda shat the bed on that one this season. If I had to guess that oversight or bad decision will be rectified for years to come. Almost mystifying to me is that strange decision not to schedule the best rivalry in sports as close as possible to the end of the regular season.Maby Gator - TheYankeesBoard.com

nice comparison, Hitter. I could see that. His playing days in the 70's r a little before my time but I certainly remember him from his managerial stints and then as an executive and the architect of the Yankees championship dynasty teams of the 90's. Always loved that nickname too, 'Stick'. Pretty koolby Gator - TheYankeesBoard.com

tonight's pitching match up looks outstanding Hitter r u going or r u already at the Stadium at this hour maybe? Cleveland is a good yardstick competition wise although they have been banged up some of late...if they still have some of these guys not in their lineup during this series the Yankees need to take advantage of that. Either way hope we get a great game tonight!by Gator - TheYankeesBoard.com
just wondering what y'all thought about Joe switching up/shaking up the pecking/appearance order for the Yankees relievers? might help Chapman work through his 'technical' issues if he, in the short term anyway, came in for the 7th, Dellin or DRob pitches the 8th or 9th depending on the situation. Is this not something to consider?by Gator - TheYankeesBoard.com
and if we hadn't traded him to the Cubs we wouldn't have gotten Adam Warren back in the fold. He's off to be sure and I think it's very plausible to wonder about the his usage by Maddon last year in the playoffs. Not a stretch to think there has been a spillover into this season regardless of whose uniform he might be wearing.
