Yankees’ Aaron Judge’s cracked rib still isn’t healed (UPDATED)

May 06, 2020 12:05AM
Aaron Judge’s fractured rib hasn’t healed yet, but it’s making progress and the Yankees right fielder’s rehabilitation hasn’t suffered any setbacks, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media on Tuesday night.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak publicly.

The Yankees expect to see even more progress in Judge’s next CT scan, which is scheduled to take place in two weeks, manager Aaron Boone told MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM on Tuesday.

And another CT scan might be necessary after that one, the person said. The healing of the bone has seemed have gone slowly, likely at least partially because blood flow to the rib cage area is slower and in lower volume than in many other areas of the body, the person said.

“It just needs time,” the person said.
