we got some of that insight in Building of an Empire. Even in the last 20-30 years baseball has changed in many ways, the changes continue each year (might bot like them all.) Cash had the foresight to think ahead & be ready. But in Yankee history, that's nothing new. Casey Stengel did with it with the platoon system & the way he staggered Whitey Ford's schedule to pitch against hardest rivals - but in doing that he prevented Whitey from becoming a 20 game winner. It was so much easier to repeat as champions in the days of 8 team leagues; one level of playoffs; before luxury taxes & FA; Rule 5 draft;, etc. which were introduced to bring parity to all teams. Might not have worded it right but this is all the more reason to appreciate the efforts oi Brian Cashman & his team
