the jury's still out on Schmidt - King was coming nicely until the Soto trade. Severino could have been IF NOT for injuries. But I agree we used to have a couple homegrown starters to mix with the FA crop. It seems there was a time we had the best minor league system in baseball always close to top of the line players - now we're probably in the bottom 10.
