The Yankees announced on Monday that they had unconditionally released RHP Nathan Eovaldi, LHP Joe Mantiply and RHP Nick Rumbelow.
Eovaldi spent the past two seasons in New York following a trade with the Miami Marlins prior to the 2015 season. The hard-throwing right-hander went 23-11 with a 4.45 ERA during his stint in the Bronx, setting a career high in wins with 14 in 2015. But Eovaldi failed to build on his breakout campaign in 2016, pitching to just a 4.76 ERA in 21 starts this past season, before succumbing to season-ending surgery.

Joe Mantiply had only recently been acquired by the Yankees after spending the 2016 season with the Detroit Tigers. The 25-year-old has made only five appearances in his big-league career, posting a 16.18 ERA in his 2.2 innings of work in the majors.

Nick Rumbelow has spent his entire four-year professional career as a member of the Yankees organization, seeing his only big-league experience during the 2015 season when he pitched to a 4.02 ERA in 17 appearances. The 25-year-old right-hander missed the entire 2016 season after suffering an elbow injury in April that forced him to have Tommy John surgery. [web.yesnetwork.com]
