Things are going to look different with the New York Yankees in 2024.
Because of this, Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner has ordered a full audit of the club and it could lead to massive changes, according to NJ.com's Bob Klapisch.
"Each passing day brings the Yankees closer not just to the end of this forgettable season, but to the organization’s full audit ordered by Hal Steinbrenner," Klapisch said. "The drama is about to get real. One person familiar with the baby Boss’ thinking believes there will be “massive” changes in the way the Yankees do business in 2024.
"It’s still uncertain whether the overhaul will cost Aaron Boone his job, but Steinbrenner is committed to finding out what went wrong and how to fix it. That means Boone will have to wait to learn this fate – at least in the short term. The investigation will begin in early October, although interestingly, the company conducting the audit will not recommend personnel changes. The analysis will instead focus on process and how the Yankees compare to other clubs."
