a thought - there have been 4 perfect games in Yankee History. Don Larsen was unlikely to toss one especially after a bummer in his first WS appearance in '56 - following that he was back to mediocrity. Boomer & Coney had a few descent years following their perfectos , David even coming close again - but they were not the guys you would even expect to toss PGs. Germain had been suspended and not exactly blowing up the league but for not his hook stymied the lowly A's -
They were all perfect games by the unlikeliest of starters - it wasn't Whitey Ford, Ron Guidry, even Jimmy Key, Roger Clemens or Gerrit Cole
- even Andy Pettitte would above those guys. In reality I don't expect a lot from Germain until he gets his crap together.
