As an old school guy I hate the big numbers. I guess Judge likes his 99 but I hope Volpe switches to a baseball number rather than the FB 77 he's been wearing.
I know so many of the lower numbers have been retired. 11 is the lowest number not currently assigned. Does anyone know if the Yankees are holding this number out because they're planning on retiring it. Gardy was a nice player for 14 years, but good enough to have his number retired? Will Volpe be able to get 11 if he wants it?
