And for the record, the San Francisco Giants couldn't show any interest in Aaron Judge before he became a free agent. Yet, there was a lot talk about how the Giants were interested in Aaron Judge long before he turned down his qualifying offer.

So Brian Cashman should have foreseen the potential of interest in Taillon before making a decision to offer or not Taillon a qualifying offer.
