we've been watching this change - it's disheartening. I can remember the stories Moose Skowron & Sarge Baur would tell as veteran players with the Yankees. Day 1 of ST the vets would tell the rookies you better not mess with my WS bonus money - they needed that extra paycheck at season's end. For most it was the difference in a family vacation or having to work from Oct/Nov till February/March when they reported to ST again. I remember one yearbook had a picture of Yogi as a shoe salesman - and the were several enterprises including a bowling alley that Yogi & Scooter were partners in =not to mention Yogi's YooHoo commercials. Definitely a different time - not everything is better.
