that's was my question last night - along with why is Schmidt being brought in with runners on base? That game was lost because we don't have a 9th inning closer - not really the manager's or coaches' faults - Michael King went down early in the season; Holmes hasn't been the same since the AS break and an injry issue; Chapman was not dependable all season so not listening to anyone thinking he should be here. Guess I will watch ENCORE for the post game show to see if there are any answers there. Got so furious with what was developing that I turned off the game as the ball went into the OF knowing what would happen.
