Well then it would be Boone that takes the fall, because ultimately it’s his team to run, and as a manager, you should be able to instill competitiveness in your club. When you hear some players in the past state “ I would run through a wall for that guy” , Boone’s image does not pop up. Joe Torre’s , Gil Hodges, Walt Alston, perhaps, but Boone, not so much. You have to be able to take control of your team and have them do what you want, not what they want. Maybe that’s old school thinking, but it’s worked in the past, don’t see why it couldn’t now.
