Doesn't look bad at all. Derek was saying it as a joke, and was smiling. It wasn't heated. It wasn't Jeter's worst moment. It was lighthearted and very, very harmless.
However, I do agree with Bryan Gumbel on the issue. No way on earth can Derek Jeter and the Marlins' brass think the team can "contend" in 2018.
