If he is sincere on testing the free agent waters in 2024, instead of giving up the future, why don’t we keep our kids and just bid on him in free agency? We have a pretty good team (with the exception of Gallo) right now without him, and if we trade away the future and he still decides to test the FA market, then we would’ve screwed ourselves for what? one or two years of his service? Those young bucks we have on the doorstep could be with us for a lot longer than just a couple of years. Just my thoughts.
