that was the year perspective on life and baseball changed completely - so upsetting & crushing as it was still felt proud to be a Yankee - big change from '57 following the loss to the Braves in the WS - lost a bet to my sister-in-law and paid it off as a 12 year old with the statement "I'd rather be a losing Yankee than a winning Brave!!" and that still rings true 65 years later
