The winter meetings concluded with the Yankees losing five minor leaguers in the Rule 5 drat - not a big deal (at least for now). Rumors are out there that the O's are looking for offers on Manny Machado. Probably looking for young, talented arms ready for the majors plus. MHO that's too much for the Yankees to give up even if Pete Angelos was willing to deal with his arch enemy. The O's won't let any team negotiate with Manny to work on an extension to his contract - he becomes a FA after 2018 and is probably anxious to test the waters. It wouldn't be worth losing Chance Adams, Justus Sheffield and probably more for one year - if someone is willing to pay for a hired gun
Breaking a deal could be done before the weekend - but with whom?
