I want to hear the Yankees side of the story, maybe Cash will clarify this - Greg said he was informed the Yankees couldn't offer him a deal because someone in the heirarchy had a heart attack. Michael Kay reported he searched back besides being a beat reporter for the Yankees at the time - and found no one having suffered one. When leaving NY, Greg talked to his agent and was told Atlanta was ready to make an offer to which Greg replied he hoped it would be done by the time he landed in Vegas. It was - Also noteworthy the Yankees signed Jimmy Key the next day - and I can tell no one is recovering from a HA in 24 hours. Not calling Greg a liar just confused on details.
