Luke Voit to undergo knee surgery and miss start of season; Jay Bruce makes Yankees roster

TAMPA — Luke Voit will undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee, missing the first few weeks of the regular season. The loss of the Yankees first baseman made it easier for them to add Jay Bruce to the roster Saturday. Picking up the veteran lefty sluggers’ $1.5 million contract, the Bombers expect him to be their regular first baseman until Voit gets back.
