The Yankees on Saturday recalled right-hander Domingo Acevedo from Double-A Trenton ahead of their matinee against the Mets in the Bronx. Acevedo is the club's No. 7 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. Acevedo, who has yet to make his MLB debut, is expected to work out of the bullpen, with Luis Cessa taking over German's spot in the rotation.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the verge of acquiring All-Star shortstop Manny Machado from the Baltimore Orioles for a package that includes outfield prospect Yusniel Diaz, according to The Athletic. ESPN's Buster Olney had reported earlier Tuesday that the Orioles had the structure of a deal in place for Machado and were working through specific aspects of the trade.

The Yankees were not willing to include one of their highest-end prospects such as Clint Frazier or Justus Sheffield. They did make offers to try to land the All-Star, but were not among the teams the Orioles were seriously talking to as a trade for Machado neared finalization.

In regards to Brian Cashman never trading prospects for a two month rental, don't be too sure of that. The Yankees are so stacked that they will have problems with their protected 40 man roster, and the Rule 5 draft. That's how the Mariners got Gamels from the Yankees, because they didn't have enough room to protect him, so they traded him to the Mariners in order to get something for him..

I have no idea where the information is coming from. I'm only reporting what Jon Heyman is reporting. Beat reporters like Heyman and/or Rosenthal never ever reveal their sources. Yes, plenty of BS rumors out there, but this information is coming from Jon Heyman and Ken Rosenthal. Two baseball reporters who are very credible, who don't throw **** on the wall to see if it will stick just to grab attention to themselves. Wow... Not sure I like this. If you really want this guy then sign him during the off season that will only cost you money (something you'll have to do anyway if you trade for him now), and overpay in prospects for starting pitching. Oh well... In Cashman I Trust.

Boone did the same thing in game one of yesterday's doubleheader, with CC. Went one inning too long with him.. I wonder if the results would've been different if Girardi was still here?

I think it's a signal to other teams by Brian Cashman that if teams think they're going fleece him for their middle of the road, rental starters, then he'll go for a big bat instead. We'll see who blinks first.
