Last Month of Season Thoughts

So much is still to be decided before 2019 regular season ends in 4 weeks - awards will be given out - post season pairings determined. No team has yet clinched but Houston, Dodgers, Yankees, Braves, and probably Cards & Twins will top their divisions. WC are still quite a battle.The Yankees still need to win one more game than Houston for HFA in the AL playoffs - that could be key in the eventual AL winner as both teams play their best in front of home town crowds.
DJ has lead AL batting most of the season but has slumped just a bit in the last week falling behind by points. Germain led for much of the year in wins but Verlander has taken over & will probably win another CY. I like that Boone will start CC then bring in Germain - his innings probably caught up with hin - an arm can only do so much. Still he's had an impressive year.
MVP will be interesting - will Trout get it simply because writers automatically check his name or can DJ garner enough support for how valuable he has been throughout the season where his team has been riddled by injuries; his work never faltered no matter what positon he played even switching during the game as needed. Without him not sure the Yankees would be 45 games over .500 or in first place. That to me is an MVP.
Aaron Boone is a definite contender for MOY - what he has done with next-man-up mentality has made for an exciting, fun season. The injuries to key players began in spring training and have not ended - at one point we could have fielded an all star team from the IL unit alone.
No idea how far we will go but the 2019 New York Yankees have already given us some great memories and overcome each obstacle they faced.
