QuotePRYanksFan ... That part I miss about George. He had lots of money and didn’t mind spending it. He just needed better advise on who to spend it on. I don't remember the details. Isn't George's money in a family trust administered by Hal and his sister?by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
QuoteHitman23 We have to face reality... Uncle Stevie have much deeper pockets compared to Hal. This was chump change to Cohen. Even with all that YES money?by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
You're taxing my Sr. memory but I think it was during an ESPN game (I don't have access to YES) in the '21 season when they moved Urshela to SS because Gleyber was making so many errors that one of the ESPN guys said something about LeMahieu preferring 2B or 1B. But again it could just be my imagination.by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
Yes, but I don't think he likes to play 3B and I don't think he is all that special there.by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
Agree, but suppose they don't sign Rodon. In your list of 6, where would you slot Senga if they had him/? I'm hoping Montas pitches better than what i saw last year. ALL last season I kept thinking of the late 40's Braves refrain of Spahn then Sain and pray for rain except in NY it was Cole then Nestor and pray for weather.by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
Will it be IKF again? Volpe or Peraza? Swanson or Correa? Someone else? I'd like them to trade away Donaldson, sign to Swanson or Correa to play 3rd a la A-Rod, and play Volpe at SS because I think he has a bigger upside than Peraza. If they trade Torres as so many have speculated they could play OP, OC, or IKF at 2B.by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
IMO, another Cashman fail. What has been the Yankees most glaring weaknesses since '09? SP and LH Bats. Cashman has consistently failed to pull the trigger on solving those problems through FA or the trade market. Sure signing Cole was great but he also signed Taillon who iirc he had been eager to acquire. Fail, fail, fail. Look at all the SP the Flushing team has signed. Of course it remainby tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
Quotetoga ... Like it or not and in spite of what Cashman has said, any manager who goes against the analytic "suggestions" better be right or get called on the carpet - with the possiblity of losing his job. They're only hiring someone who is in lockset with the geeks. Do you have an opinion about that? I made my living based on analysis and math so I'm in tune with the analytics, bby tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
If George were still alive he'd have brought back Billy.by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
Sure, but what do they do with Machado? I don't recall who their 2nd base is but it still leaves them top heavy in productive IFs. Maybe they'd trade Tatis for Hicks and Donaldson.by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
Boone? What does anyone think? I would like to have seen them "go in a different direction" when his contract came up for renewal this Fall. I thought he made too many poor pitching choice decisions. As in leaving I guy in too long or taking him out too soon. To be sure all managers do that What would we second guess if they didn't? I just think Boone did it way too often. With respect to the Eagles, since I'm The New Kid in Town, I'm certain I will bring up a subject from time to time that has been previously hashed out here. Because I don't know what they might be I will probably hit on a few that everyone has had more than enough of. So in that spirit the first will be Aaron Booneby tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
I wonder what this means for Tatis Jr.? I haven't seen anything written. Has anyone else?by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
So many amazing changes it's difficult to even know where to begin not the least of which are in my own family. My eldest son was born in CT but my two youngest kids were born in FL. My eldest's eldest will be graduating from Villanova Law this Spring. I-95 wasn't completed just past downtown Ft Lauderdale all the way to northern Miami-Dade County. Born and raised in Norwalk Connecticut but I've lived in the Fort Lauderdale area since 72. "tkaes" was my original username with AOL nearly 30 years ago. I just continue to use it for everything except bank related stuff.by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
Wasn't there an option year or two with Hicks? I thought there was something that would have given the Yanks a way out.by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
Thanks. Happy to be here.by tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
Long, long time Yankee fan. If I had to pick a beginning point I'd say it was shortly after I turned 6 and I saw a photo of Billy catching that Robinson wind-blown pop-up at his shoe top near the mound in the 52 World Series. Of course it didn't hurt that my Dad was a big Yankee fan since he was a kid. I have long been a subscriber to 2 different college message boards. The other day I thouby tkaes - TheYankeesBoard.com
