Will this ever end???? Losing 3/4 to the Orioles reminds me of the late 60's. The difference was that was the end of the dynasty of Mantle/Bera?Ford/Maris plus the CBS ownership who didn't give a crap about fielding a respectible team. Today's team has the pieces they just need to put the puzzle together. Cole summed it up yesterday with we get pitching no O, we get the O sloppy fielding, pitching falters the bats are alive - getting everything to gel at the same time has been the problem. We're going to play 10 games with Toronto plus 4 more with Baltimore -that's the bulk of our remaining schedule. The Jays are fighting us for 2nd place in the ALE which would assure a playoff spot - otherwise we'll be fighting the O's and Tiggers for the 8th & final spot. When this 60-game season began who thought the Yankees would be in this postion of not even making the expanded playoff schedule? Sadly we can't afford to wait until Stanton, Urshela & Judge return to the lineup. It's time for Sanchez, Gardner, Hicks, Tauchman & Ford to step & do their thing. DJ 7 Luke carried the team for the first part of the season; Luke is playing in pain - and oh the skid started about the time DJ went on the IL. Bad habits are easier to form than to break them - unless we SWEEP Toronto beginning tomorrow don't have a lot of confidence of 2nd place> We blew it against the peskies giving away games - will the Jays be given 2nd place this week - stay tuned Yankee fans
