I (repeat, I) would cut him some slack. Still quite young and I/We don't know what goes on behind the scenes. I think he felt slighted not starting the season up with 'the show' even though his numbers were quite good. They're actually quite good thus far. Yet he is struggling with RF. He usually is LF and is much better there. Bottom line is he has produced much more than he has given up defensively. Is he Hicks, defensively? Nope. But don't penalize him because his arm is stronger than Gardner's so the burden is on him (by being better defensively) than the option (Gardner) and making him learn the new position. I believe the guy will be an all-star. I just hope it's with the Yanks.

Also, I agree with him about his teammates answering for him (if they did - I didn't see any of the interviews). If he rather not talk until he has something to say (and many athletes have done that across all sports), they don't (as teammates) need to talk for him, THAT'S what creates drama. Stay out of his business and let all and any pushback be on him. Now if Boone or Cashman tell him he needs to talk to the media, then he has to at this stage. If it was Judge that wanted to ignore the media, somehow Boone/Cashman - just a guess - would be alright with that.[/quote]

I don't want to beleaguer this but it's not that I don't like the kid. I defended him as not playing right field before and trying to adjust to the different reads & flight of the ball - different approaches than his accustomed left field. But the Yankees wanted him to be at his locker Sunday to face the media. His teammates were there to answer questions that Frazier should have- not to be critical of him. Last night he had the opportunity to clear the air but took the offensive with curt answers. Judge, Torres, Voit, Sanchez do not avoid the media - Gary was there every time in 2018 to answer questions including abut his lapses on D.
