he's acting like like a petulant, rebellious child. His attitude is a disruptive force in the dugout. He screwed up Sunday - in right field again but worse by not standing & answering questions or just saying that he messed up but will continue to work. Instead his teammates were left to field questions from the press - Monday was a day off so he decides to make a statement on Tuesday. He doesn't anyone an apology for his actions - what about his teammates (left them answering to the press for his mistakes); the Yankees who wanted him to be responsible to the press, something the players are taught right from the minor leagues; or the fans who want to know what is going on with him. Mistreated by the media in NY - so his example comes from way back about his hair. Now I wonder whether he is Yankee material even MLB - now because of his difficulties in learning right field but because he seems to be a "me" person rather than a teammate. To say he doesn't have to answer questions from the media it's not a rule - where was Mariano following game 7 in 2001? Hero or goat, good game or bad - it might not be a written rule but players are expected to be accountable following a game. Then to say his teammates only made things worse by answering after the game.
Mariano only refused to appear for interviews after the '96 WS because he wanted to be able to answer question in English - by the '97 ST he was ready. Gleyber Torres, Miguel Andujuar,, Gio have not shied from interviews -= if needed the interpreter is close by to explain some questions. Accountability is part of being an adult not just a professional athlete - Frazier needs to mature. Did he just talk himself into a demotion to S/WB this weekend??? (FWIW haven't watched post game from last night - will do that in a little bit) and now I did see Frazier's post game - reporters & Clint blew this - it's can only get worse. Will NY media 'destroy" this kid? seen happen before.
