Judge has been garnering headlines primarily for his chase of the AL single-season home run record of 61, set by Roger Maris 61 years ago. Judge slammed two more homers Sunday against the Brewers to up his season total to 59, then homered again on Tuesday to become the first American League player since Maris to reach the 60-homer mark. But as his march continues, Judge also finds himself in the mix for a batting title, which would put him in the lead in all three Triple Crown categories in the AL.
Following a 4-for-5 day Sunday in Milwaukee and a 1-for-4 effort on Tuesday,
Judge's batting average was at .316, leading the AL ahead of Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts (.315) and the Twins’ Luis Arraez (.314). And, needless to say, Judge leads all of baseball in homers and RBIs by a very comfortable margin.
