Who remembers the 1998 World Series? I remember hoping the Braves would beat Sterling Hitchcock in game 6 so the NLCS would go to a 7th game. This way Kevin Brown wouldn’t be able to pitch three games in the WS… Brown, Gwynn, Vaughn, Hitchcock who pitched great for the Padres in 98 scared the crap out of me before game one. Especially since the Padres clinched the NLCS in six, which lined up Brown to pitch games 1, 4 & 7.
