Time to Play Gm

The Yankee season came to an end last week falling short of its goal - even the high payroll didn't bring home the AL championship let alone #28. Come the end of October things will be in earnest to formulating 2021 rosters - but REMEMBER every team lost money not having fans in the ball parks during a 60 game season - compared to sold-out stadiums in a 162 game season. DJ LeMaheiu, Mashiro Tanaka, James Paxton & J Happ have contracts that end this year; Brett Gardner has a team option for 2021. Decisions to be made - stay to the topic of the thread as we go along. We will try to cover & discuss these and other players in the coming days.

First up is DJ - the MLB BA champion for 2020, the only player to win one in both leagues and a versaltile player for three IF positions. He's not your normal home run hitter; he sprays the ball to all fields and can come up clutch when a hit is needed. Is there anyone who doesn't want DJ back in pinstripes? The question is how much and for how long are you willing to pay a 32 year old infielder. 4 years for $20 mil per; 3 yrs @ $25 mil Will someone else make this abidding war - perhaps the moneybags Muts owner?? Where should the Yankees draw the line? Maybe a reasonable offer and enjoying the Yankee system will sway DJ's mind. What's your thought on DJ?
