just watched the last innings on ENCORE - first on D Torres never even looked to make the throw to 2nd as he fielded the ball his focus was for whatever reason on 1st yet the runner was right there in his field of vision (maybe he should be wearing his glasses. then on the blooper by Bret - he didn't even look at Wade (lead runner) who was watching to see whether the ball was caught so he could still get back to tag up & score. He was like 2 steps from 3rd with no chance to get backl to second if it's caught easy DP. He lucked out that it landed - but even if he had played half way the smart thing, and only advanced to 3rd instead of scoring there, he would have scored either on the WP or Gio's IF hit or maybe it was an error
Not sure what happened to baseball smart Gleyber of 2019 - this is why I'm wondering if maybe his 2 cases of COVID have affected his thought process or focus. It's happened to others - straight A students who were unable to focus in classes. For whatever reason he's not making smart moves/plays and IF we make even the WC that could be a HUGE problem.
