I remember that it took a while before they realized the problem in Tex's wrist.

Never heard of this Ryan guy - maybe it's just to give Florial time to get some live action at S/WB while they decide whether or not surgery is required for Hicks. Also gives Frazier & Gardy a chance to step up to the plate and produce or hit their way out.
