An inexcusable loss that should have been won in regulation= when they triple the hits of the O's but only score 2.
Going into this game we were down two players which did not help anything - there was no counter move when they sent Mike King to the alternate site using the reasoning that he wouldn't be available due to the 6 innings Sunday - he should be ready now. Then whatever is going on with Judge - you knew he wouldn't be insertefd-wonder how long they wait before he goes on the IL.
I've been thinking about how excited we were when Torres, Andujar & Frazier were coming up anticipating some studs. That lasted their first season. Torres moved from short to 2nd with Didfi at short and did well. He's moved back to short and has done nothing but struggle - led the majors in errors by a SS in '20 and is off the flying start this year - doubt he will make the transition and his abs are showing his frustration. Frazier showed maturity in 2020 so much he was named starting LFer - so far he hasn't shown he deserved it. There haven't been many interviews with him but it sticks in my mind how he shrugged & laughed off misjudging balls during ST; his strikes out in key situations & you that smirk of 'of well'-wonder if he has reverted to that idiot that refused to face the media after a horrendous OF game in '19. Miggy hasn't been the same since returning from TJ surgery - Urshela captured the hot corner in 2019 & did well last year but so far has 5-10 mph off his throws since his elbow cleanout-he could still be building strength & confidence to air it out.Add it all up and the optimism we held for 2021 could be heading down the tubes without some major changes - we can't go far far leaving risp and making fielding miscues. No excuse to 2-3 in the first week with this lineup. But it's what happens on the field not on paper that wins championships. TIME TO PLAY BALL!!!!
